
antra is looking for business-minded individuals with a good understanding of Scotland’s farms to apply as FBAASS Whole Farm Review Advisors.
The Farm Business Advisor Accreditation Scheme for Scotland (FBAASS) works with the Scottish Government’s Whole Farm Review Scheme to improve Scotland’s farming businesses, ultimately making them more profitable.
FBAASS has a network of accredited farm business advisors that help review farm businesses, develop a whole farm business plan and work towards a successful and profitable future for Scotland’s farms.
Accreditation is open to anyone who meets the criteria, including technical, business management and consultancy skills and only those advisers who are accredited can deliver whole farm business advice under the Whole Farm Review Scheme.
Potential advisor applicants should meet the following criteria:
• Educated to a minimum of HND level or equivalent
• Proven track record of delivering business management advice, with the equivalent of at least 2 years full-time delivery of business management consultancy
• Proven ability to establish, appraise and understand the relative strengths and weaknesses of a business
• Experience of developing potential strategies to enhance business performance
• Current knowledge and experience of the agricultural industry including the key regulatory, environmental and subsidy regimes in Scotland.
In addition to these core requirements, potential FBAASS Advisors should be client focussed, credible, influential, driven and enthusiastic with good critical reasoning skills and excellent communication and planning skills. Also it is ideal if applicants are IT literate with access to computer, email and telephone, able to travel to different farm locations and can demonstrate current Professional Indemnity Insurance.
FBAASS applicants need to complete an application form and provide evidence of educational qualifications, business management skills and technical knowledge.
