Allerton Project Farm
The Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust (GWCT) inherited the 800 acre Allerton Project farm in Leicestershire from Lord and Lady Allerton, who having no heirs to inherit the estate, left it to the Trust. This was a fantastic opportunity for the GWCT to demonstrate that is possible to reverse the decline in wildlife while farming commercially and increasing crop yields. In particular, one of the key aspects of this visionary project was to assess how the traditional skills of the gamekeeper could not only produce a stock of wild game, but to find out to what extent other species of farmland wildlife would benefit from this too.CLICK HERE TO SEE MORE

With economic pressures on other crops, British farmers are increasingly looking at vines as a realistic new source of income.CLICK HERE TO SEE MORE
